Laser Welding Cladding for Glass Forming Dies
In the production of glassware, the role of the mold is extremely important. Due to the very high temperature of the liquid glass during forming and the need for forced cooling, the molds used in glass forming, especially the inner cavity of the molds, must have characteristics such as high strength, minimal thermal deformation, and good heat resistance. Therefore, applying a layer of high-strength, heat-resistant material (stainless steel or other heat-resistant alloys) to the inner cavity of glass forming molds using laser welding cladding has become a cost-effective method in manufacturing these molds.
Advantages of Using Laser Welding Cladding for Glass Forming Molds:
- It significantly improves the heat resistance and strength of the molds, prevents deformation and cracking, and increases their service life, which in turn enhances the quality of the glass products and reduces the rate of defective items.
- It saves on the cost of producing molds and allows for repairs using laser welding cladding equipment in case of mold damage.
- The molds exhibit less thermal deformation, higher precision, and a longer service life.
- The produced glass surfaces are smoother and have a higher brightness.
- The adaptability of the molds to temperature changes is noticeably improved, cooling is convenient, demolding is easy, product quality is high, and production efficiency is enhanced.
