TC Bearings by Plasma Hardfacing
TC bearings are vital components of screw-powered drilling tools used in oil exploration. They bear the radial load during the operation of the drill’s drive shaft, and their performance has an extremely significant impact on the lifespan of the drilling equipment.
Comprising inner and outer bearing sleeves, TC bearings have the inner sleeve tightly connected to the drive shaft, while the outer sleeve is linked to the drill. They are responsible for transmitting power from the motor to the drill bit. In their long-term operation, these bearings not only endure considerable axial and radial forces but also continuously withstand the erosion and wear from various liquids and sediments. This requires them to possess excellent wear and corrosion resistance. To address this, we use plasma hardfacing to deposit wear-resistant material on the surface of the bearing sleeves, along with plasma surface hardening techniques.
Utilizing plasma hardfacing for welding TC bearings results in high precision, minimal deformation, reduced subsequent grinding work, and a simple and convenient operation. With a high cost-performance ratio, it is one of the ideal processes for treating TC bearings.
